Regulation is required.

We recommend that you use a DC shunt regulator, even if you are dumping extra power into AC loads, such as heater, water heater, hot tub, etc.

Use the Xantrax C40 or Morningstar TS45 up to 30A, and the C60 or TS60 up to 50A. Multiple regulators can be used for higher amperage.
